Rodolfo Macias always wanted to be an artist. As a kid, he would spend hours drawing, an interest which later evolved into architecture as he worked construction with his father. He was fascinated by how ideas on paper could become physical space. Rodolfo holds a bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a master of architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. His experiences at school: studying abroad in Italy, engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and learning from great professors deeply influenced his architectural perspective. Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, Rodolfo worked for three years at a design-build firm, where he gained an appreciation for the process of building. He approaches design by thinking less about objects and more about places of pause and interaction.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Rodolfo comes from a family of immigrants that instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility and commitment in his pursuits. He creates inside and outside of the studio: painting, making tables and mirrors and spraypainting. A nature enjoyer, Rodolfo loves to mountain bike in the many trails Texas has to offer.
