Growing up surrounded by fashion and design, Elaf developed her creative foundation early on, learning to sketch and sew alongside her mother. Her passion for the fashion world allowed her to engage in the world of design.  After many room rearrangements and redecorations growing up – she realized that architecture and interior design were here calling. A graduate of the Interior Design program at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Elaf brings a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by her background in landscape architecture. In collaboration with studio.bylasan, she explores small-scale interior projects centered on storytelling, culture, and meaningful experiences. Elaf is now channeling her expertise at Card and Company, focused on creating functional, welcoming spaces that foster connections and reflect the people who use them. 

Born in Diyala, Iraq, and a San Antonio resident for over a decade, Elaf draws inspiration from nature, culture, and community. Outside of design, she enjoys spending time outdoors, creating floral arrangements, and horseback riding in the Texas Hill Country.
