Doc’s

Montrose | Houston, Texas

“As a professional musician, the challenges and intricacies of designing my own venue were entirely new to me. Having never taken on a commercial construction project for myself, Jonathan eagerly joined me in the trenches to understand my true goals and needs so I could deliver a world class experience to my customers.

This was a significant undertaking and required the musical environment to be in sync with the food, drinks, service, and general aesthetic of my vision. Jonathan went above and beyond: from the furniture selection to the technical specifications of the bar, kitchen, and stage design. The result is a truly unique collaboration between owner and architect that not only met, but exceeded my expectations.”

- Doc Watkins, Owner

A successor to Jazz, TX in San Antonio, Doc’s Montrose is the second jazz club by Brent “Doc” Watkins. Located in the historic TowerTheater in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, an appropriate remodel now accommodates an intimate stage, three stories of seating, and a full kitchen and bar to service a complete dining experience while enjoying live music.
